Proper preparation and aftercare play an important role in achieving the most beautiful healed results. This guide will help you understand how to prepare for your appointment and support your skin during the healing process.
Each treatment has specific preparation instructions, so please review the section relevant to your service prior to your appointment.

Preparing For Your Brow Appointment
Beautiful results begin with proper preparation. Following these guidelines will help ensure optimal pigment retention, smoother healing, and the most comfortable treatment experience.
Two Weeks Before Your Appointment
One Week Before
• Avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds, or sunburn on the face.
• Discontinue use of retinol, retinoids, or resurfacing products on the brow area.
• Avoid chemical peels, laser treatments, or strong exfoliating treatments.
• If you receive Botox or fillers near the brow area, schedule them at least two weeks before or after your brow appointment.
• Avoid brow tinting, waxing, threading, or lamination within 5–7 days prior to your appointment.
• Avoid facials or skin treatments that may irritate the brow area.
48 Hours Before
Day of Your Appointment
• Arrive with clean skin and no makeup on the brow area.
• Do not apply creams, oils, or sunscreen on the brows before your appointment.
• Eat a light meal beforehand to help maintain stable blood sugar levels.
• Wear comfortable clothing and allow yourself time to relax and enjoy the experience.
• Avoid alcohol.
• Reduce caffeine intake if possible.
• Avoid blood-thinning supplements such as fish oil, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, or high-dose omega oils.
These can increase sensitivity and minor bleeding during the procedure.
Before Booking
Permanent makeup may not be suitable for individuals with certain medical conditions.
Please contact us prior to booking if any of the following apply:
• Active eczema, rosacea, or psoriasis in the brow area
• Uncontrolled diabetes
• Autoimmune conditions that affect skin healing
• Pregnancy or breastfeeding
• Use of prescription blood-thinning medications
• Recent chemotherapy or radiation treatments
• History of keloid or hypertrophic scarring
• Extremely sensitive or reactive skin
• Active skin infections, irritation, or open wounds near the treatment area
Preparing For Your Lip Blush Appointment
Lip blush enhances the natural tone and shape of the lips while restoring youthful color and definition. Proper preparation helps ensure beautiful healed results and a smooth treatment experience.
• Begin gently hydrating your lips daily using a nourishing balm.
• Avoid harsh lip scrubs or aggressive exfoliation.
If you have ever experienced cold sores or fever blisters, lip tattooing may trigger a recurrence.
Clients with a history of cold sores are strongly advised to obtain an antiviral prescription from their physician prior to their appointment.

Lip blush may not be suitable for individuals with the following conditions:
• Active cold sores or herpes simplex outbreaks
• Cracked, bleeding, or severely chapped lips
• Pregnancy or breastfeeding
• Autoimmune conditions affecting skin healing
• Use of blood-thinning medications
• Recent lip fillers within the last two weeks
• Active infections or skin irritation around the mouth

Preparing For Your Paramedical Tattoo Appointment
Paramedical tattooing is a restorative treatment designed to help improve the appearance of scars, restore natural features, and support confidence after medical or traumatic experiences.
Because each case is unique, proper preparation helps ensure the safest and most successful outcome.
Two Weeks Before Your Appointment
One Week Before
• The treatment area must be fully healed from surgery or injury, typically a minimum of 6–12 months.
• Avoid sun exposure or tanning on the treatment area for at least two weeks prior.
• Avoid chemical peels, laser treatments, or aggressive exfoliation near the area.
• Avoid waxing or hair removal in the treatment area if applicable.
• Keep the skin well hydrated using gentle, non-irritating skincare products.
• If the area is prone to irritation or sensitivity, avoid products containing strong acids, retinol, or exfoliating ingredients.
48 Hours Before
Day of Your Appointment
• Avoid alcohol.
• Reduce caffeine intake if possible.
• Avoid blood-thinning supplements such as fish oil, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, or high-dose omega oils.
These can increase sensitivity and minor bleeding during the procedure.
• Arrive with clean skin and no creams, oils, or makeup on the treatment area.
• Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being treated.
• Eat a light meal before your appointment.
Paramedical tattooing may not be appropriate for individuals with:
• Scars that are still healing or less than 6–12 months old
• Active skin infections, inflammation, or irritation in the treatment area
• Uncontrolled diabetes
• Autoimmune conditions affecting skin healing
• Pregnancy or breastfeeding
• History of keloid scarring
• Current chemotherapy or radiation treatments

A consultation will be completed prior to treatment, and GLAMHER reserves the right to decline treatment if it is not considered safe or suitable.
